About

Our Story

Since 1972, the Westford Business Association has been the heartbeat of Westford’s business community—a place where entrepreneurs, established enterprises, and community leaders come together with a shared purpose: to build a thriving, vibrant business ecosystem that benefits everyone who calls Westford home.

Originally established under Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws and formally incorporated on June 23, 2014, the WBA has evolved from a small gathering of local business owners into a dynamic organization representing diverse industries, from retail shops and restaurants to professional services, technology firms, healthcare providers, and everything in between.

After a period of rebuilding, we’re back stronger than ever—refocused, re-energized, and recommitted to making Westford the premier business destination in the region.

Our Mission

The Westford Business Association is committed to the growth and vitality of Westford businesses in partnership with the Westford Community.

We believe that when businesses thrive, communities flourish. Our mission drives everything we do:

  • Creating awareness of the incredible diversity of businesses that make Westford special
  • Promoting Westford as a premier location for business growth and success
  • Providing opportunities for meaningful networking, mentoring, and continuous education
  • Advocating with a unified voice to ensure local businesses have input on policies that affect them
  • Connecting business and community to foster economic growth that benefits all residents

Our Values

Collaboration Over Competition

While our members may serve similar markets, we believe there’s strength in unity. We share resources, refer customers, and support one another’s success.

Community First

We’re not just business owners—we’re neighbors, parents, volunteers, and community members. Our success is tied to Westford’s success.

Inclusive Growth

From sole proprietors working from home offices to established corporations, from nonprofits to brick-and-mortar retailers—all are welcome at the WBA table.

Integrity & Service

We operate transparently, hold ourselves accountable, and exist to serve our members and the broader community.

Innovation & Adaptation

Like the businesses we represent, we’re constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of Westford’s business landscape.

What We Do

Monthly Networking & Education

Every third Tuesday of the month, we gather for breakfast meetings that combine networking with education. Each meeting features business spotlights where members share their stories, challenges, and expertise with the group.

Quarterly Signature Events

From our Sizzlin’ Summer Social to our formal Annual Meeting, and from our Business Trade Show to Mid-Year celebrations, we create diverse opportunities for connection throughout the year.

Advocacy & Representation

Through our partnership with the Westford Economic Development Committee (EDC), we ensure local businesses have a voice in town planning, zoning, economic policy, and initiatives that impact the business climate.

Member Resources & Support

We connect members with:

  • Business mentorship and peer advice
  • Professional service providers
  • Member-to-member discounts and referrals
  • Access to educational workshops and seminars
  • Visibility through our business directory and community presence

Community Investment

We’re proud to give back through:

  • Scholarship programs supporting graduating seniors from Westford Academy and Nashoba Tech who are pursuing business careers
  • Community event sponsorships that bring residents and businesses together
  • Support for local initiatives aligned with our mission

Board & Leadership

The WBA is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and active committees focusing on Membership, Events, Communications, Community Outreach, and more. We’re staffed entirely by volunteer—business owners and professionals who donate their time because they believe in our mission.
