In the summer of 2014, Gary Lavelle of CSA Graphics, approached the Westford Youth Basketball Association(WYBA), with a creative idea that would both support the WYBA and help generate new business for his company.

Gary’s approach was to have all WYBA teams sponsored by local companies, and any un-sponsored teams would be the responsibility of CSA Graphics. With approximately 1200 kids in  99 teams it was going to be a challenge, but the risk would be worth the reward.

Three weeks and thirty-six sponsors later, all 99 teams were sponsored from Westford businesses. Sponsorships saved the league $7000, and at the same time provided great exposure for local businesses. Hoping to prove this format, Lavelle is looking to expand to other recreational leagues in town as a way to help keep costs down for recreational sports while at the same time bring recognition to our many local businesses.

The league already contacted CSA Graphics to see if they are willing to do the same for them again this year. Without hesitation, Lavelle said he would be happy to help out for the 2015-2016 seasons.  Having learned a lot from last year, everything will remain the same with a few changes to make it even a better season for both the league and the sponsors.

This year CSA Graphics is reaching out to the Westford Business Association in an effort to make it an even a more successful season.
